Laura Flippin

Laura Flippin grew up in the Washington DC area, specifically Arlington, Virginia.  She attended The College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia, and graduated in 1992, with a degree in government and public policy.  After that, Laura Flippin attended the University of Virginia School of Law, and now holds a Master of Arts in American Government.  Laura Flippin has an extensive legal career including positions such as a Special Assistant to the President at the White House, a Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the US Department of Justice, which included duties like overseeing more than one third of the civil litigation caseload for the Civil Division, matters involving the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Trade Commission and the Food and Drug Administration.  Laura Flippin also worked as a Clearance Counsel in the White House Counsel’s office, handling background, clearance and ethical issues for Presidential and US Senate-confirmed appointees. She also previously served as a Trial Attorney with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Division of Enforcement, and clerked for the Honorable James E. Bradberry, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.   Currently, Laura works as a partner in the DLA Pipers Litigation Practice in Washington DC. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling the world, watching movies, reading, and learning about art. She is a proud Washingtonian and continues to enjoy exploring all the different restaurants in DC.
